Snap Snap: 31/01/14

Its been a very long time since I shared a "Snap snap" post with you. My Instagram (as well as all my other social networking sites) got a bit abandoned during Christmas and into the New Year... and then of course it got forgotten about completely!

Hopefully this will get back to being a weekly feature very soon, but for now here's a little update from the first month of 2014:

- Inspirational words on my desk calendar.

- The first doodle of the year.

- I'm really loving candles at the moment and have bought quite a few. This pretty owl candle holder was a Christmas present.

- Continuing my love for inspirational quotes.

-Working on some new ideas

- Sketchbook pages.

- Research for ideas for my new uni project

- Trying to get better at drawing hands.

- A few days spent working on my new website.

- A package of cards being sent off to my newest stockist.

- A little bit of shopping. It wasn't intentional that the clothes matched the nail polishes!

- Planning the next 4 months of my life.

Life: The Final Push

This week was the official start of my Final Major Project at uni (eeeek!).

We went into uni on monday for an explanation of everything thats happening over the next few months, and were given a LOT of information to take in. As soon as I got home I had to make myself a little planner to help me figure out what's happening and when!

I've got a few ideas for what I want to do for my project, but I need to do a little more research before I make the final decision.

As part of the unit, we are required to keep a blog documenting are progress throughout the project, sharing images and ideas etc.

There's one post there so far, and I'll be writing again later in the week once I've finalised my ideas.

Obviously whilst all this is going on I may be a little absent from the blog, but I have a few posts schedule over the next week or so, so I won't be completely disappearing.

Life: Shiny new website!

Hi everyone!

Today I have launched my brand new website!

I've been working on it for most of the week and its now finally ready to share with you.

For a while now, just like everyone else, I've had so many sites spread across the internet (Blog, shop, Facebook etc.) but nothing that linked them all together along with a gallery of my work. So I used this week off uni as an opportunity to change that.

I registered my own domain name and used moonfruit.com to create the site. I have no clue about coding so I used Moonfruit's design tools to do that bit for me, but the layout and images are all designed by me from scratch. Moonfruit's website is pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it and there's lots of different price plans to choose from depending on what suits you best, so I would definitely recommend it if you're looking at creating your own site.

The work in the gallery is quite limited at the moment, but I'm planning on adding to it over the next week or so, including a new Sketchbook Work section, so keep an eye out for some new pieces of work. And the blog might get a slight make-over so that it matches the website a little better.
